AFL finals: common questions

Who plays who in the AFL Finals Week 2 2026?
The full AFL Finals Week 2 2026 fixture, with teams, venues and kickoff times, is listed on this page at thestatslab.app/afl/finals. Each game card links to a free full analysis page with head-to-head history, form and a data-led lean.
How does The Stats Lab predict AFL finals games?
Each side's recent scoring form (points for and against) is averaged across the last five completed games. A side's expected score is the midpoint of its attack average and the opponent's defence average, with a fixed home-ground adjustment. When the model's expected margin is under four points it calls the game line-ball rather than forcing a tip. No stats are invented: when a side lacks enough form data no lean is published.
What do AFL finals weeks mean?
The AFL finals are a four-week series that narrows the top eight teams down to the two Grand Finalists. Week 1 features the Qualifying and Elimination Finals, the series then moves through the Semi-Finals and Preliminary Finals, and the Grand Final decides the premiership. The current week's fixtures and kickoff times are listed above.
